The downside of the “hard” design is that now a huge number of people visit the Internet through various devices that have a size from 4 inches to 52 ”(and sometimes even more), which causes inconvenience when you are on the site. In such cases, the page layout may be distorted and not display correctly on the screen.

Therefore, this type of web design is now rarely used, it is considered obsolete and impractical.

Flexible Design

The “rigid” design was replaced by a flexible , or, as it is also called, rubber. This view provides for the presence of different screen sizes and resolutions: all elements are attached to the page in percentage terms, so on large screens the site will automatically stretch to the full width, and on small ones, accordingly, narrow.

Flexible adjustment allows you to achieve the correct display on any screens, which is very convenient for the average user.

Combined Web Design

As it became clear from the title the third type of design combines the two previous ones. Such a design is used if it is necessary that some elements do not change their size and position. Sometimes it is necessary for demonstration of tables.

The combined look of the design works so that the page is stretched only due to some elements, while the rest do not change and remain fixed.

Interface Design

This type of design focuses on user convenience. The functionality of the site, UI / UX and so on is being worked out. The main task is to make a user-friendly site where he can intuitively and quickly understand all the details.

Most often, such designs are made for complex services, exchanges, trading floors, etc.

Dynamic Design View

Perhaps the most complex form, requiring great experience and imagination of the designer. It is characterized by the fact that almost all elements of the site are in motion: they pop up, disappear, turn.

A similar design looks very impressive, but is expensive. Therefore, usually it is ordered by large organizations, such as companies producing automobiles or the film industry.

Print Design

It is issued in the form of booklets or printed publications, most often it is used when creating corporate websites, online stores, message boards.

These are the most common types of website design that designers should be guided by when creating a new project.

In addition, a rigid framework does not exist, and often designers can implement elements from several types of web designs on one resource. It all depends on the objectives and goals of the future site.
