Malawi Green Tea

This artisinal green tea from the Shire Highlands, Malawi is steamed in the traditional Japanese style. The deep, rounded flavour, coupled with the aroma of Mediterranean fruits makes this an exquisite drink.

Grade: T.S.F.O.P (Tippy Special, Flowery, Orange Pekoe)
Appearance: Gold coated, dark green splintered leaves
Production method: Orthodox. Picked, steamed, dried, rolled

This delicious green tea comes from a small, third generation, family owned tea and coffee estate in Thyolo District of Malawi and was established in 1923. With a social responsibility program which provides welfare services such as a health clinic and local school, the farm is dedicated to ensuring a good standard of living for the employees and their families.

Satemwa tea garden is leading the way in speciality, orthodox African teas, producing an incredible variety of teas from unique cultivars. All teas from this garden are Fair trade, UTZ and Rainforest Alliance Certified.

Steeping instructions:

Use 1 tsp per person. Steep for 2 minutes. Infuse each pot at least twice

    Great everyday green tea which is not bitter.

    Really like the style of this tea which has nice complex flavours. Tip- using about 70C water will bring out more sweet notes and avoid any astringency
