Jin Jun Mei
Jin Jun Mei Wuyi black tea is not only one of the most famous black teas in China, it is also one of the most labour intensive teas to produce. To obtain 1 kg of this tea, 100,000 buds have to be picked during the first weeks of Spring, which requires the skill of the most experienced producers. This work is reflected in the price which can reach thousands of pounds per kilo.
Golden eyebrows is so named due to its appearance – thin, twisted tea leaves, said to resemble the eyebrows of traditional Chinese beauties. These slender, golden buds are very elegant and delicate and yield a delicious black tea, quite unlike any other. An aroma of raw cane sugar leads to a clean, fresh tasting black tea with a smooth, sweet butterscotch-like finish.
This tea is grown and produced by the award winning Chen family who produce some of the highest grade oolongs from Wuyishan, grown on zhenyan, or rocky soils. As with all the teas we select, this has been grown without the use of any pesticides or chemicals as this area is strictly protected by the government.
We are offering this tea in a 10g sample size so you can try a high quality tea without the high price tag!
